Smash Hits Poll Winners Party

The Woolworths Smash Hits Poll Winners' Party and Tour is the pop event of the year and you're all invited. If you're thinking of coming along to the party or the tour, you've come to the right place. You can buy tickets online and ensure your fave artists go home with the trophies by taking part in the exclusive online voting.
Want to make your vote count for Poll Winners' 2002?!? After all if you don't vote you can't complain when the awards are handed out to those you loath. Or cheer when your hero wins with a special glow inside. This year you could cut out the voting form from the magazine, track down an envelope, find a stamp and trek to the post-box etc etc (yawn). Alternatively you could save yourself the trouble by voting instantly online. You'll also be doing us a huge favour, as we'll have fewer forms to count. You can tell us who you want to win in each of the thirty categories or select your faves. Remember the Poll Winners' Party is the only terrestrial TV awards show in which you and only you decide all the winners. So help us make it more exciting than ever. Go on you know you want to - and we promise we want tell anyone that you voted for Rick Waller in every category. www.smashhits.net

Pre-Order Baby Don't Dance

Well we certainly didn't think we'd ever be buying any more Steps singles, particularly as they split up last year!!!,  but here we go you can now pre order Steps' last ever single 'Baby Don't Dance' at www.amazon.co.uk  It is officially released in shops on Monday 11th November. The video will be live footage on stage at the Manchester Evening News Arena taken from last December's Gold Tour. We suggest you lay back and listen to it and forget that the trauma of the Boxing Day split ever happened! It's definately a must have for die hard fans of the band everywhere.

Steps' Last Dance

Jive records have come up with the ultimate get back plan at H & Claire. Apparently the massive company who Steps were signed to were more than a little slighted when the duo signed their new deal with rival firm Warner and now they've decided that revenge is a dish best served cold. Almost 12 months after the split Jive will be releasing 'The Last Dance' a new album from Steps, which will include previoulsy unreleased tracks from the fab five and if you were wondering what happened to 'Baby Don't Dance' their last ever single...well it's going to be release head to head with H & Claire's new offering in November. Hmmm should be interesting!

H & Claire Finish Album

The final week of August has seen the final recordings for the H and Claire debut album. On August 27 and 28th H and Claire recorded "Another You, Another Me" written by Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Anderson of ABBA fame. The song has been Produced by Sam Watters and Louis Biancanello from the USA. It turns out that the song was originally written for Abba in the early 1980's and would have appeared on their next album had they ever recorded it. Bjorn has always known the song was a big hit and after Tim Rice helped H and Claire's Manager Tim Byrne hook up with Bjorn, Bjorn decided that an update of the lyrics would help the song suit H and Claire. H and Claire are over the moon and a little shocked that the Abba legends have played such a part in their album. This song has Number One written all over it!On August 29th and 30th H and Claire have recorded another song written and Produced by Sam Watters & Louis Biancanello titled "Nothing At All". Sam and Louis wrote this new song very recently specially for H and Claire and have flown all the way from San Fransisco to record with them. The song is a great up-tempo song in the style of The Beegees/Abba with a huge anthemic chorus. The final day of recording took place on Saturday 31st August in London with top Swedish songwriters and Producers Hitvision from Murlyn. The song "Centre Of My Heart" was written specially for H and Claire by Hitvision with Aleena is a mid-tempo "Backstreet Boys" song with a big Abba type chorus. The album will be fully delivered in mid-September ready to be in the shops in November!

Robbie's Pal To Cover For H & Claire

ROBBIE WILLIAMS' best mate JONATHAN WILKES has landed a job as a kids TV presenter.
Jonathan, who shares a flat with the superstar, is to present SM:tv while former STEPS stars CLAIRE RICHARDS and H are on holiday.
An ITV1 insider said: 'Bosses snapped up Jonathan after he wowed them during a screen test.
'If he is a hit with the viewers he may be offered a regular gig.'
Jonathan is trying his hand at presenting after his singing career flopped.
He had also hoped for West End success in the musical Godspell but producers pulled the plug after a tour of the provinces.
Jonathan, who is preparing to take the lead role as Frank 'N' Furter in a new production of The Rocky Horror Show, will host SM:tv for the next two weeks.(The Sun)

3SL Dropped By Record Company

Lisa's brother's band, 3SL, have been dropped by their record company due to poor sales of their latest single, 'Touch Me, Tease Me'. Sony delivered the bad news to the boys on Monday, but the band who are managed by big sis Lisa, are confident they will be signed to a new label soon. Ant says that if their fans continue to support them as they have done in the past 3SL will go from strength to strength. We wish the lads and Lisa good luck with their new contract cos we reckon they're fab!
